GCBDD announces scholarships

posted Mar 22, 2017, 8:38 AM by Mark Kovack

The Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities is proud to now offer scholarships to individuals in the community with a developmental disability. Administered by the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, the GCBDD has established these scholarships to recognize and encourage individuals to pursue their dreams and ensure that students with disabilities are able to achieve their goal of attending an institution of higher education, despite potential obstacles such as learning issues, environmental challenges, or medical conflicts.

Three scholarships, in the amount of $1,000 each, will be awarded for the 2017/18 academic school year. To be eligible to receive a scholarship, you must be a high school senior or older, plan to attend an institution of higher education, have completed a FAFSA application, and be served by the Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

The deadline for application submissions is April 30, 2017. Applications are available at the GCBDD - 60770 Southgate Road Byesville, OH 43723, on our website below and in your school’s guidance counselor’s office. Completed forms must be submitted to the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio. Instructions are listed on the application.
