5 Things to Know About EVV

Ohioans receiving Homemaker/Personal Care (HPC) and Developmental Disabilities Nursing Services will soon be required to use Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) when their services begin and end. Kristy Wathen from the Ohio Department of Medicaid tells you 5 Things to Know About EVV.

Shared Living

Shared Living is an option within Residential Services in which a person in the community and a person with an intellectual or developmental disability choose to live together and share life's experiences. See first hand in the video above, a success story here in Guernsey County. To learn more, contact Jennifer Oakley, Employment Navigator/Provider Support at joakley@guernseycountydd.org or call 740-439-4451 at the Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

 Working Wednesday

Our November Working Wednesday is Chris.

He is currently participating in the Employment First program through Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD). For many years, Christ has been employed at Guernsey Industries, but felt that he was ready for the next step. After deciding that community employment was that next step, Chris and his Service and Support Administrator (SSA) filled out the necessary paperwork and began the referral process for the program. Since July, Chris has been working with his employment vendor/provider RHDD in the job search phase. Sometimes this process can be lengthy and requires a lot of patience; however Chris has shown that he is up for the challenge.

Congratulations Chris
